• Absolute originality is almost impossible
• Put a twist!
▪ Shapes
• Sharp shapes give off a more sinister vibe while rounder
shapes give a friendly vibe
• Shape, color, tone, lines contribute to characters’ meaning
▪ Research
• Observing from real life ensures what is portrayed is visually
accurate
▪ Aesthetic
• The look, style, and feel
• Chosen color, medium, and texture contribute to this
• How the character appeals to audiences
