Extent to which moral standards of society met in day to day behaviour.

The way in which a manager acts in an ethical fashion is influenced by three different factors:
manager, organisation and external environment.

The first factor, the manager, refers to the manager’s personal ethical framework- formed by their
family influence, religious beliefs, their standards and needs, and self-concept.
Managers are faced with dilemmas such as:
Discrimination
Conflicts of interest
Customer privacy
Where to use limited resources
Sexual harassment

The way in which they respond to these dilemmas is determined by their ethical framework.
A strong ethical framework results in more consistent and confident choices,
A poor ethical framework is likely to be portrayed through their choices- with inconsistency.
