Document Summary
A statistic test uses data from a sample to assess a claim about a population: the claim is formally referred to as the hypothesis. The null hypothesis (h0) is a claim that there is no effect or difference. Note: h0 usually i(cid:374)(cid:272)ludes a(cid:374) (cid:862)=(cid:863, ha usually i(cid:374)(cid:272)ludes o(cid:374)e of (cid:862), or (cid:863, usually, the null is a very specific statement and the alternative is everything else, you either reject or do not reject a hypothesis. : average hours of sleep per night for students. When results as extreme as the observed sample statistic are unlikely to occur by random chance alone (assuming the null hypothesis is true), we say the sample results are statistically significant. If the result is statistically significant, then we have convincing evidence against h0 and in favour of ha. Extrasensory perception (esp) is being able to telepathically understand the thoughts of other individuals.
