Symmetrical unimodal / multimodal / flat (every value is about the same and there"s little variation) If you have skewed data where there"s lots of data in the tail, then it suggests the mean is not the best measure of data. Positive to the right (til of high values) Negative to the left (tail of low values: connecting graphs with numbers symmetrical distribution shows the mean and median. The peak(s) on the graph show the mode of the data. Standard deviation average of the deviation of each data point. Gives you a clue as to whether your data is unimodal or from the mean. multimodal. If there are more values in the lower end, the mean will be higher than the median. If there are more values in the higher end, the mean will be lower than the median: types of qualitative data.
