Module 9: closing the project: from projects to services. Proje ct closin g: a project has a definite end. Finalise all activities and transfer the work to appropriate people. Project team members will be moved to other work. In pmbok, occurs as part of the project integration management process. Project closing occurs when work is delivered and then accepted by the client. Client should have a detailed testing procedure to check the delivered project meets the needs (separate from internal testing during the project) Client usually signs formal document stating the work was delivered. Ste ps to take at closing: all documents reviewed and marked as final version. Configuration item (ci): anything that is of relevance that needs to be managed to provide an it service (e. g. hardware, software, people, documentation, processes, etc. Configuration management database (cmdb): records all cis under change management control with the status of each ci and its relationship to other cis.
