Leaky filter vs. slippage: a leaky filter would explain why some unattended items receive further analysis, slippage is where attention suddenly shifts. Lecture 14- attention 2: more stress is better when trying simple task. Evaluative pressure: pressure increased distraction caused by task related features and reduces distraction by irrelevant features. Problems with feature integration theory: feature search: distractors are all the same, no clear distinction between parallel and serial search, conjunction search may be slower just because targets are less easy to discriminate.
