User Scenarios
“A user scenario is a narrative, which describes how a user might
interact with a website or software application. In a user scenario, a
specific task is specified, and a narrative is written describing how
a user might accomplish this task.” (Pidoco, 2018)
Define.
Adjective.
User Scenarios.
1. Are the stories that our personas act out. Basically, they’re thought
exercises, visually represented, in which to predict certain type of
users will interact with our website, in a given situation to complete
a given goal.
2. They let us understand what future users will look for when
completing tasks on our site.
3. They allow you to test the site’s structure before it’s fully developed
and isolate problems before they become problems.
4. They can be very detailed but should at least outline the who,
what, where, when, why and how – of the usage.
Every successful design starts with an understanding / concept of who will
use the product.
“A scenario is a narrative describing foreseeable interactions of types of
users (characters) and the system. Scenarios include information about
goals, expectations, motivations, actions and relations.
Scenarios are neither predictions nor forecasts, but rather attempts to
reflect on a portray the way in which a system is used in the context of
daily activity.”
