Document Summary
Drug related issues i: understand that illicit drugs are addictive. Disease model: chronic, relapsing disease of the brain. Experimental research has provided understanding of addition & provided an avenue for understanding brain function. Also activated by drugs (&alcohol: heroin, cocaine, marijuana. We make these neurotransmitters: can restrict to parts of the brain, be all over brain, can be all over body. Make us feel good, reduce on pain, memory and mood. Gives us these rewards when we use them like what they are doing to you. In all rewards, dopamine is final activation chemical. Function: pain: feeling you get is opposite to what they do when used, agitated, aggressive, irritated, sore, know the basics of dopamine impact on behaviour. Dopamine is released following electrical stimulation in the brain. You don"t want to have to much otherwise you would be dependent on things making you happy rather than yourself.
