Human body: how we interact with the world. A locus of rights, and the point of legal control (behaviour+treatment). Legal body: physical skin that captures us physically and legally - separate from each other (distinct). Objects are subject to legal property rights due to ownership. If you can own your own u can own others (slavery) so should not see bodies as owned by ourselves as we would with other objects. eg. can"t sell organs bc you don"t technically own them according to law. Law does not have a clear way of de ning ones body. Legally v minimal limitations on doing anything to your own body. Legally cannot authorise someone else to do something to your own body (alter/interfere). Can interact with others in life and sport but cannot consent to ght someone else. Sex: chromosomal, gonadal, anatomical characteristics associated w biology. How this is presented and recognised in the community (name, appearance, dress etc.
