Involves significant impairment in general intelligence and deficits in adaptive behaviour: other labels: Intellectual developmental disorder: mental retardation, global developmental delay, prevalence, between 1-3% of the population, more common in males then females, correlated with anxiety/adhd/autism, sex ratio and comorbidity vary across different levels of intellectual disability. Assessing intelligence: most commonly used set of iq tests, wechsler tests, non-verbal tests available for children with little verbal skills.
