Immediately posterior to upper border of symphysis pubis. Situated between urethra and bladder anteriorly and rectum posteriorly. Cervix projects into vagina at an angle. Anterior wall of vagina is shorter than posterior wall. About 2. 5mm long is an adult, non-pregnant state. Uterus varies in shape, size, location and structure. Variations are dependent upon age and other circumstances, such as pregnancy. Nulliparous woman: entire uterus is shaped like an inverted pear (narrower part is directed. Internal os: separation of the body and cylindrical, narrower cervix. External os: separation of cervix opening and vagina downwards and backwards) Each tube is a canal about 10cm long from ovary to uterus. Located in upper, free margin of broad ligament. Its diameter is about 1mm at the uterine opening. In a nullipara, ovary is situated on lateral wall of pelvis, at the level of asis immediately medial to lateral plane.
