Often 3/5 small businesses fail due to errors in foundation and understanding. Three core areas: front counter, interaction between the business products and the customer. Business interface as well as customer online interaction: goal to have good experience with the face of the business online or in person. Common business functional areas: accounting, economics and corporate responsibility - (what business gives back to a society, eg sponsorships, giving back to employees, accounting - accounting analyses the profitability of a business. How much money comes in and goes out. For example: cost of inventory, stock, wages, training, travel, insurance, repairs and maintenance. Generally done on a monthly basis: economics from an economics perspective, the business looks at what is happening in relation to the economy and the impact it has on the business.
