The triumph of lent: the sociocultural impact of the reformation of religion. More than one church formed; ceased to be just the latin church. Suddenly, there are several in the space of a generation. Don"t agree on sacraments, purgatory, what it means to be a christian. What happens is what happened: profound implications for the practice of christianity and the relationship christians had with the sacred, when it changed something as profound and fundamental as religion, the entire society changes. Triumph of lent": takes place through two mechanisms and ways, social transformation clearer distinction between the sacred and the profane (worldly, personal transformation development of a new morality, particular a new attitude towards sexuality. Also see increasing concern about self-control: change in european attitudes and behaviour at a social and cultural level. Sins of concupiscence: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth. Sins of aversion: pride, envy, anger: separating the sacred from the profane.
