Texts/readings can be found on moodle leganto. Best to have text in either print or on laptop. Extra critical readings each week will provide more depth and supplement the main text. Weeks 3 and 8 these are mandatory. Respond to tutorial prep questions on moodle. Class text on 23rd of august - 20 questions on lecture material, reading (primary texts), as well as a close reading exercise (the question will be pre-released) - will deal with a text from first 4 weeks. The result/product of literary activity: a body of literary works produced in a particular genre. Written work valued for superior and/or lasting artistic merit. Late 20th c - literature as a term has become problematic - complex in that it may be ideologically contaminated, or possibly demystified / deconstructed through radical critical theory - it may become unusable". The term continues to be used widely - eg. uni, degrees, titles, prizes, fellowships.
