- Visual design, the way you talk about ideas
- Consider your assessment
How can we interview an idea?
- You at
+ You are more likely to be interviewing an idea rather than a person for the second
assessment
+ You will have to illustrate an idea
+Some ideas can be illustrated because they are visible (Poverty, can show the
effects, people who are in poverty)
- You have to illustrate the idea- directly, by metaphor or allusion
+ You cant film freedom but you can allude to it
+ Metapho it is like this + Allusio: pesetig a feelig, epath that is the sae
as what is being talked about
- If the idea is visible, then show it in motion
- If the idea is complex, provide a metaphor
+ If it is ople, it at e filed
- If the idea has porous boarder, then sketch one view of it
+ Use a lens, lens of ideas
The Higgs Boson
- It is a particle that gives mass to some other particles
- It is a field through which some massless particles (like the photon) travel
without hinderance
- A particle is a distribution shape within a field
- (Ted Ed on The Higgs Boson) How it is difficult to explain science
The outcome
- You are not an expert in sub atomic particles
- You do however have a better grasp of the idea and may feel qualified to
express an opinion (general idea, familiarity with the information)
+ Experience = the permission to have an opinion
+ Propaganda: Can tweak peoples understands on a topic
- This is good when the information is carefully edited for accuracy
- Can be bad when the info is edited to a purpose
Illustration
- Doest hae to e a sigle oept poided  oe etapho
- Tailoring an information flow, holding and letting go of information repeatedly
+ Flow of ideas
+ Give an argument to the audience in a way that makes them feel like they are
following a logical argument, the feeling that they have grasped an idea
- It doest hae to e full aiatio o lie atio, it can switch between
techniques as the info is best described one way or anther
