Clinically significant behavioural or psychological sundrome or pattern that occurs in an individual and that is associated with present: Disability (i. e. impairment in one or more important areas of functioning) Significantly increased risk of suffering death, pain, disablitiy, or an important loss of freedom. Characterised by one or more major depressive episodes which involve at least two weeks of depressed mood/loss of interest plus at least four additional symptoms: Characterised by at least 2 years of depressed mood for more days than not plus at least two additional symptoms: Characterised by one or more of the following episodes and duration: Major depressive episode with at least 5 symptoms present during a two week period. Mixed episode lasting at least one week which meets criteria for both a manic and major depressive episode. Two or more symptoms (below) present for a significant portion of time during a one month period.
