Characterised by one or more major depressive episodes which involve at least two weeks of depressed mood/loss of interest plus at least four additional symptoms: Characterised by at least 2 years of depressed mood for more days than not plus at least two additional symptoms: Characterised by one or more of the following episodes and duration: Major depressive episode with at least 5 symptoms present during a two week period. Mixed episode lasting at least one week which meets criteria for both a manic and major depressive episode. Two or more symptoms (below) present for a significant portion of time during a one month period.
