Frame analysis has been used extensively in media studies, to look at how media construct issues to shape the public"s understanding of how a problem came to be while introducing important criteria by which solutions should be evaluated. Journalists rely on frames to communicate ideas to readers and viewers while building frames" is also recognised as an essential component of the political strategy of any individual or organisation. We will also, taking j rgen habermas" analysis of the public sphere as a starting point, consider the transnationalisation" of the public sphere and media globalisation. We will look at the interplay between global, regional and local contexts in contemporary media, with attention to the role of new technology in contemporary forms of global media and the challengess that this entails.
