Minisatellites can also affect gene regulation: over 1000 in human genome, minisatellites= sequence is variable amongst different people, affect gene regulation, roughly about 100 of these mini satellites within human henome. Di is 2, tri is 3, tetra is 4. Also called simple sequence repeats ssrs: expansion and contraction of repeat number can occur during dna replication, understand the mechanism via which trinucleotide repeats.
