There was a lot of communist paranoia, a satellite was sent into space. After world war ii the economy grew. Teens started listening to radios in their cars. In the early 1960s folk music played a big part in speaking out for civil rights. Rock n roll came out of all of this to unite these things and to get people to talk about it civilly. Rnb became increasingly popular with mainstream youth white culture. The first wave of rockers included buddy holly, jerry lee lewis and elvis presley. Even though the youth viewed rock n roll as being their own but parents viewed it as dangerous. Rock n roll was in the domain of radio, allen freed started making crappy movies in order to get rock n roll on television. For the most part, the first wave of rockers were forced out.
