Twin studies are very important because identical twins share all of their genes. Because of this, comparing identical twins and fraternal twins is a good demonstration of heredity when it comes to iq. On average, 70% of iq scores are explained by variation in genes. However, adopted children will share some resemblance (in term of iq scores) to their adoptive/foster parents. If siblings are raised together, their iq scores will correlate more than if they are raised apart.
