Document Summary

Proximity we tend to like those we spend time with, so be near the other person, be present. How often your paths tend to cross each other influences the chances that two will like each other this is partly due to ere exposure. Mere exposure the more exposed we are to something, the more familiar we are with it, the more we tend to like it. We tend to like people that we interact with or think we will interact with interacting with people increases positive feelings towards that person. Focus on similarities: we tend to like people that are similar to ourselves this applies to friendships as well as romantic relationships to us. This is to some extent an illusion, we tend to overestimate how similar people are. In general, attractiveness is somewhat more important to men than it is to women. For a very short term relationship, women put a lot more emphasis on looks.
