Beetles, millipedes (made of chitin, pull un protected parts in) use their hard outer shells to protect from predators, go into a ball. (protect legs) Turtle shells composed of two parts 1) carapace (top) 2) plastron (bottom) Soft physical defenses: summer, have leaves inside chattering teeth, warning odor from skin above the tails base. Chemical defense: found and released by a variety of body parts. Poison spines: hair + poison: animals who have stiff hairs that are branched and tipped with toxins. Warning coloration= aposematic coloration: being brightly coloured to warn others of your defenses. This allows predators to remember distinctive colours and avoid eating these colours in the future. Red eft: bright orange skin and spots poiso(cid:374)ous ski(cid:374)
