Document Summary

Natural history is the observaion of living plants and animals flora and fauna- and their interacions. Natural history is the real world and interacions between animals. All living things face the challenge of staying alive, they have various defences. Camoulage used to just be animals that have paterns that fade into background but now we know there are many types. Every habitat has certain shapes associated w/ it that allow for speciic concealment to take place in it. For example, grasslands and meadows have verical lines so if you want to hide here it would be useful to have verical lines. A lot of sparrows live in this habitat and on their body they have verical lines designed to help the animal blend into the background. Background matching only works if the animal isn"t moving so besides having the verical lines the animal needs to be crypic (not move). Another habitat with verical lines is a marsh.
