Rocks are made of minerals that affect the nutrient supply of the soil chemistry. The rock under any given area is called: bedrock. Sedimentary rock is formed from sediments or other rocks. Most limestone has a lot of calcium (calcium carbonate) and is soft and basic in ph. Breaks easily, which gives calcium to soil around it.
