Taboo words (swearing) associated w/ negative emotions: right hemisphere more involved w/ negative emotions, basal ganglia production (associated with turrets (blurting), amygdala perception (responds to threatening stimuli) Swearing: using language as a weapon to force a listener to think an unpleasant (or at least emotionally charged) thought. Sex, cunt vs. vagina, shit vs. poo: it was so fucking big. Perception: transforms things in the environment to internal representations. Action: turns desires to act into physical changes in the environment. Same thing for: robotics, animals and disembodied software. Distributed cognitive system (distributed cognition): multiple cognitive agents working on the same thing (ex: you and a computer, you and a friend, etc. ) Ex: you and excel working on a paper. Example of a distributed cognitive system and its environment: a construction worker using a blueprint to make a house/ the materials and house, a student using a campus map to get to class / the campus.
