Cgsc note - fields that compose cognitive science. Study the things that is possible to study. Animals, things that are evolved in the natural world. Interested in cognitive functioning even when it is erroneous. Broad eld of basic research in human interaction. How people interact with artifacts (human designed things) Run experiments to show how behaviour a ects cognition. Investigating the nature of language using a psychological method. Cannot just run experiments - build a model to build a hypothesis. Not enough theory there are no theoretical psychologists. Don"t spend enough time theorizing, spend too much time on experimenting. Cognitive science is possible because psychology refuses to change. Does not embrace the other methods of other elds. Subject matter: usually big questions, what our concepts mean, otherwise quite broad. Idea without actually running any experiments - processing it by thought. Theorizing from evidence from other elds and common sense observations.
