Gender: the idea that we construct what normal is, we say children because it is more inclusive, idea of normal and abnormal is related to race, gender, identity, doing gender. This idea that we perform gender on a daily. What it is to be boy and girl : we are normalizing these gender roles. Other children (peers), adults (parents, teachers, those around us) When adults say something children do it because they are taught to listen to adults: what it is to be a boy and girl is heterosexual marriage (heteronormal ideal) Unless the media, books portrays something else. Learning about gender and sexuality is important for them when put in the setting doing your gender, performing your gender. Teachers and adults can limit the child"s agency (their voice) !1: gender and how children and adults do gender is socially and social identity but more about what they do on an ongoing basis.
