Food is something we work up in media to signal certain things. Obesity epidemic we put it in the frame of a contagious disease. Framing it this way does certain things and makes us think of it in a certain way. Children are props to get to parents/gatekeepers. A way of introducing new products into the household. Children have natural uncorrupted wants and needs. Growing recognition as a children as a category of person. Childhood wasn"t a distinct kind of person.
