Important announcement: the mid-term exam will be on wednesday, october 21 during the usual lecture time (1:05 pm to 2:20 pm est). It will be posted on culearn and we will have all of class time to do it. So far it is unconfirmed what it will cover but expect some theory (find the error, true or false, etc). Last lecture we talked about different types of functions in python. The first was built-in functions (a programmer can use them without the need for providing the function definition). The second was user-defined functions (defined by the user to perform a certain functionality). Check lecture 7 notes on hamzaottawa1. wixsite. com/mysite or the lecture 7 slides posted on the comp 1005 (lec) section of your culearn to see the explanations of these two types. The third type of function we will discuss are class functions. Can be used (called) by any class instance (object) init() function is a special function called class constructor.
