Week 1 sept 17th credibility of sources. Types of data: quantitative: data that are measured and given a numerical value, qualitative: are descriptive and are information that cannot be numerically measured. Preferred data is dependent on research question and what you want to answer. Research entails: research question, reviewing existing literature, deciding what kind of data you need to collect, and nd the most useful ways to report on your ndings. Claim is the central assertion of a study that has to be well-supported by evidence. The evidence comes both from other people"s research and your own ndings. Database= a collection of sources that you can search. Books, journals, reports, thesis for research -> search in databases with keywords. Boolean -> and example : innovation and medical careers. You can add another and > narrows search results. * = wild card, placed at beginning of word or root of word, allowed for combinations.
