Document Summary

Is is normal for society to have crime. Crime is the "collective consciousness" of the society and it is normal that there are behaviours that go against this because this collective unconscious in not shared with everyone. There is nothing in itself that defines crime. Some things harm others but aren"t and shouldn"t be the law"s business. It will always have an expressive and moral component. Therefore punishment is a form of reaffirming values. Be a way to reinforce the sense of harmony of a certain society. Reaffirm the criteria of living in a safe community. New forms of behaviour will force society to rethink and reconfigure their moral arrangement. One way in which we regulate people and imposed norms on some individual. Not a lot of diversity, complexity and homogeneity. Individuals cooperating - rights that allow the free play of individuals. Doesn"t work through fear - internalization of various moral codes that are imposed on me by society.
