There is no consensus in the norms of society. Crime is only abnormal in eyes of law. A particular group or culture could see an illegal behaviour as normal. Groups in position of domination will impose their laws and smaller groups with have behaviours deemed as violating the law. Looks at how groups appropriate themselves to state power. Criminal law is a tool of oppression and domination. Criminal justice system is not a system of justice. Criminal law regulates the poor and is part of bigger machine of exploitation. Criminal justice system can never be just in capitalist system. We need to abolish the right to claim land. Lumpenproletariat: scum criminals, prostitutes, extreme poor, mentally ill. people devoid of class consciousness. It is direct product of capitalism as a result of demoralization, being deprived of meaningful work. Crime is an act of political resistance, resisting exploitation. Engels insisted that not all forms of crime are rebellion.
