One of the most famous canadian comics. Canadian super hero stamps released by canada post in 1995- represented super heroes most important to canadians. When stamps were released, these comics were out of print for many years. First female super hero and earliest super hero that is nationalist, representing nation, in canada. 1939-1945- wwii, comics were to expensive to import on pulp paper- banned for saving money. Nation of students with no comics- 4 canadian publishers sprang into existence overnight, began publishing comics- had monopoly on market. Johnny canuck and nelvana were most popular, canadian whites - cheap/terrible quality paper, all comics in wwii in canada called this. American comics flooded market and canadian comics ceased publication overnight- now like 10 copies exist for each, out of print since 40"s.
