Imagination is like a muscle- needs to be worked out with proper techniques. Course examines first stage of rhetoric called invention aka brainstorming, and teaches strategies for writer to construct persuasive ideas. Each module will begin with an introductory video and learning outcome. Lo= what skill or knowledge you will have achieved by the end of a lesson, an activity, a module, or the whole course. Direct us to basic things we will learn in each module. Overall lo= you will be able to generate and construct ideas for your university-level writing. Thought engine - method for leveraging specific digital resources and stimulating certain kinds of thinking to produce and develop ideas. 4 categories of te"s: words and sentences, images, metaphors, arguments. Materialize ideas in the various media we use. 4 principles of te"s: generation, randomness, constraints, manipulation. Creativity and your imagination, inspiration, expiration- will reflect on these. Creativity may be taught from host of disciplinary perspectives.
