The edible parts are divided among participants in the sacrifice. Gift of fire is a gift of technology. Prometheus taught humans science, math, farming, sailing, shipbuilding, etc. Earliest civilizations were riverine and large floods could be disastrous. Water is giver of life and can take it away. Marine fossils in mountain rocks may have prompted universal flood story.
