Originally, the odyssey was not divided into books: did not have titles for books, composed on papyrus. Prophesized that odysseus would come home late : he is coming home 10 years late. Odysseus will find suitors in his palace. Aeolus gives odysseus a bag of wind and tells him to use it to get home. His men open the bag and the winds blow them back to aeolia. Aeaea is the home of circe sister of aeetes (daughters of the sun god helios) Circe turns men into animal (bewitches them: ishtar also turned lovers into animals (eog also the daughter of the sun god) Circe drugs the men and turns them into pigs (except earylochus) Odysseus goes to rescue his men from the sorceress : hermes gives him immunity to the magic of circe. Moley magic herb that protect odysseus against witch craft. Odysseus tells circe to change his men back and she uses an ointment to do so.
