GPOL 1500 Lecture 6: GPOL Discussion - Week 6.docx
Document Summary
Whether we like it or not, conflict is a common element of politics. The problem with conflict is that it is very hard to control. All it can take is one incident and that single incident can have a domino effect and incite other actions and other people to get involved. Organizations and governments have tried to control them many times through different strategies, some of them happen to be engagement and confrontation. Conflict can only be stopped when all the parties involved all agree to do so. Engagement can be a very useful tool since it is a more pacific and natural way to solve the problem. The parties involved have an agreement, often containing compromises, however there is basically nothing that stops the other party from not sticking to their word and doing what they want. Which essentially seeks to confront and undermine the other party.
