Constitution established a federation of soviet national republics. All peoples declared free, equal and sovereign with right to self determination and even secession. Class divisions were abolished as was private ownership of land, banks, all means of production, transportation. Separation of church and state: church not allowed to own property. Women were equal end encouraged to get an education and participants in society but definitely a ceiling over them in what they could be able expected to do and how much authority they got. All parties except the communist were abolished. Class enemies were disenfranchised and favoured classes (the proletariat) were given more representation than peasants. Practical materialist motivated by lofty and unrealizable ideals. Pursued his ideas stubbornly but could compromise. Assumed dictatorial power to create a perfect democracy. Excellent judge of russia"s condition and poor judge of conditions elsewhere. An astute judge of character, he left russia in the hands of one of the world"s most appalling monsters.
