Bones- provide structure and support the weight of your body, they protect the bodies internal organs (heart a and lungs protected by rib cage) Joint-where two bones come together (ball and socket, hinge etc. ) Ligaments- connective tissue that hold bones together (acl, mcl etc. ) Cartilage- covers the ends of the bones, prevents the ends from rubbing together (meniscus) Amputation-removing of the limb (diabetes and gangrene is the leading cause) Arthritis rheumatoid and osteoarthritis)- osteoarthritis: degeneration of joint cartilage and the underlying bone, most common from middle age onward. It causes pain and stiffness, especially in the hip, knee, and thumb joints.
