Why people talk to us: sometimes people want to talk to you to lie to you, people like to talk about emotional events to the media and online. Factor: degree of controversy: some people will want to lie to you depending on the story, low controversy: the cause of polio. Getting started: am i going to do this on the phone or face to face, have a road map of questions and pencil and paper, tell them what the story is about. How did you react to a question?: spell out names right, remember to get all names, position, email, phone number etc, review notes immediately after interview.
