What is propaganda?

Propaganda vs. Persuasion:
“Propaganda is a form of communication that attempts to achieve a response that furthers the
desired intent of the propagandist. Persuasion is interactive and attempts to satisfy the needs

Why pay attention to Propaganda?

-Journalism’s first loyalty- to citizens
-Our quest- the truth, propaganda is not the truth
-Need to ask, is it consistent with democracy? Is anybody going too far? You can fool
people. Previous governments fooled people.

Propaganda:
-Propaganda, in the most neutral sense, means to disseminate or promote particular
ideas
