Another 17 year old micmac indian named donald marshall, jr. , was wrongfully convicted of his murder, and was sentenced to life imprisonment in november 1971. 11 years later, marshall"s lawyer, stephen aronson, brought forward info suggesting. Instead, a third man roy newman ebsary, who was one of the four people, was charged with killing and was convicted of manslaughter following three trials. He was sentenced to three years in prison, and in 1986, the court of appeal reduced his sentence to one year.
