Document Summary

Lecture #2: types, funcions and dysfuncion of law. Background of the law and what we think of it. Every society has been organized by mechanisms that declare, alter, administer and enforce rules of ciizenship. The way the person in charge wants things to run. Even and consistent- not able to happen that way all across canada, because we are too large. Takes into account everyone"s interests- not able to happen because we are diverse. We have formal documentaion (i. e. the consituion) (i. e. lawyers, police, judges , social work, medicine, educaion) Merged new cultures- we are large no longer able to rely only on kinship. Take into account all the changing within society. The law has to be general enough yet also speciic enough so that we know exactly what it is saying. General because then it can be applied to many situaions. Law is always changing it is on-going- the charter- to address new situaions arising within society.
