Contributory plan only eligible if you work enough years and contribute to the pension. Can get this when you retire at age 65. Disability pensions available if you become permanently disabled. Must have recent attachment to the workforce: contributed at least in 5 of the previous 10 years, or in 2 of the previous 3 years. 2009: recent attachment criteria changed to 4 of the previous. Severe disability (stops the clock doesn"t add on to recent attachment if you were out of work with severe disability) Child rearing drop out (time removed from the workforce raising a child does not keep the clock running on attachment requirement) Back injury following work-related accident in 1980. Prior to his accident he made cpp contributions for 6 out of the previous 10 yrs. Wont allow him to receive disability benefits. S. 15 claim you say i had to be severely disabled when i was only partially disabled.
