There are specific neurons that line the back of the eye (retina) neurons or their axons and dendrites are drawn towards a signalling: chemo affinity hypothesis: chemical that indicates the correct pathway, postnatally. Axons bundle up to form the optic nerve that goes to the optic tectum. The outside of the eye responds to opposite side of the head to the nasal area right in front order which causes them to become parallel. As eyes engage with the visual world, they will fine-tune the receptors in. The centres of the eyes are not aligned and doesn"t contribute to the fine: amblyopia: lazy eye tuning of neural connections. Needs to be fixed so that the child can have 3d vision. Still unsure of the critical window: stress in early life is associated with: Later development of depression, anxiety, and addiction disorders. Process by which exposure androgens (male hormones) alters the brain: masculinization rendering it identifiably male.
