The brain is the most complex organ on earth. There are over 2000behavioural disorders that are related to brain abnormalities. How the brain produces behaviour and human consciousness is one of the largest unanswered scientific questions. Mentalism is the philosophical position that a person"s mind or psych is responsible for behaviour. Aristotle suggested that all human intellectual functions are produces by a persons psyche. The psyche is the first word that was depicting the brain, later the word psyche was translated to be the mind by christianity. They didn"t"t view the brain as we do now, but they viewed it as where all the thoughts worked out. Is the philosophical position that behavior is controlled by two entities a mind and a body. Rene descartes wrote that there is a physical attachment or control between the mind and the body.
