Document Summary

Cognitive behavioural therapy is probably treatment of choice. Certain part of brain will light up when you introduce person to the idea that makes them anxious. When individual develops social anxiety you have internalized the anxiety. Happens twice as much in women than in men. Especially bad repaution because it was associated with soldiers. Shell shock did not reflect on war response but on their own weakness. Given how badwar incidences, car accidents can be, how are there some people who are not affected. How you react to stressor immediately would predict how you would react to it later. For the person with ptsd, it is on their mind all the time. A word with lots of association makes it hard to forget. Anything less than that can be forgotten easily. When in long term storage, it is relatively fixed. When asked to remember the memory, it is brought into active memory from long term memory.
