Operationalizing variables seeks to demonstrate a relationship of causality ie x(independent variables) causes y (dependent variable) Dependent variable (y): is the factor in the analysis that is to be explained. Independent variable (x): explanatory factor that can account for the variation of the dependent variable across different cases.
