Modern intelligence testing was launched later by alfred binet (devised a scale to measure a (cid:272)hild"s (cid:373)e(cid:374)tal age(cid:895) Lewis terman revised the binet scale to produce stanford-binet scale, which introduced the intelligence quotient (iq) David wechsler published an improved measure of intelligence for adults, which introduced the deviation iq score. Subaverage general mental ability (iq < 70) accompanied by deficits in adaptive skills. Categories : mild, moderate, severe and profound (85% vastly with mild disability: giftedness. Iq tests are useful to identify academically gifted people (score of 130 as minimum)
