Stress: a negative emotional experience accompanied by predicable biochemical, physiological, cognitive, and behavioural changes that are directed either toward altering the stressful event or accommodating to its efects. Fight-or-flight: body is motivated to either attack the stressor or withdraw from it, acts through the sympathetic nervous system.
